Meet our Ambassador Jade Power

The #FindAFace winner and Musto Ambassador reveals all in her exclusive first interview since being crowned as our champion.

Has winning our Find A Face competition finally settled in?

It has been incredibly overwhelming and I am still in shock! I have had so much support from my family, friends and people who have followed my journey over the years through social media. I really have been inundated with messages of congratulations from everyone, it has been fantastic.

What does it mean to have support for your showjumping career?

I have been horse riding since the age of five years old and it takes sheer commitment, passion and determination to progress in this sport. To have the recognition & support from a worldwide equestrian brand such as Musto is a crucial step towards taking my showjumping profile and career to the next level.

How hard is it to become a professional showjumper?

It is a very tough and challenging profession and I have the upmost respect for all riders, at any level. It definitely takes dedication and commitment but above all, you have to have a natural ability to connect with your horse. It is not a job you can particularly “switch off” from, as horses at that level of competition generally need the consistency of working every day.

How many horses do you have?

Four – Dindsay Van’T (AKA Disney), Countdown 32, Rolympus S and Romarno B

What does a normal day look like for you?

I feed my horses daily at around 08:00am and then they are either ridden, lunged or if it is sunny, I will take them for a hack. I then usually practice some yoga and meditation or go to the gym, as keeping fit and healthy is also a critical part of being a rider. If I have a modelling shoot or a casting then I will ride my horses extra early. I also walk them all out in the evening before their dinner. It is like being a full-time mum but I could not think of a better way to spend my time!

What are your goals for this season?

I have recently formed a new partnership with a very special horse I bought from one of Holland’s top show jumpers, Anne-Liza Makkinga, who is also a very good friend of mine. We have already had great success together and I am very excited about what this year will bring. I am hoping to take my horses on the Sunshine Tour and also jump at San Giovanni Italy in the summer; it is one of my favorite places in the world! I’m very excited about the year to come, especially being part of the Musto team.

How will the support from Musto help towards your plans?

The sponsorship will help me realize my dream to take Countdown to compete internationally and train with some of the world’s best riders. Whilst competing, I shall also have the benefit of wearing the most technical equestrian clothing from Musto to aid my performance. I am very proud to be to be able to showcase Musto’s new show jumping collection to my followers, spectators and fellow riders alike. It is a dream come true to be part of such a great British brand.

What is your favourite Musto item?

I absolutely love my Prestige Windstopper® Show Jacket, it is so lightweight and comfortable. It does not feel like you are riding in a jacket and does not restrict my movement in any way! I love the cut and style of it and the material helps me stay both cool when performing in the ring and warm when I am getting my horses prepared beforehand.
