Clothing giant Musto has announced that it is to double its existing level of support to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA).
The new deal will see Musto offering WPNSA a benefit package worth £5000 per year, as well as being the Academy’s official clothing supplier.
Andy Towne, CEO of Musto, comments, “Musto is delighted to be able to offer WPNSA its continued support. We are extremely proud for the Musto brand to be associated with such a prestigious venue, the home of British sailing, and we look forward to working closely with WPNSA in the future to fulfil all their clothing requirements.”
This year, Musto’s aspirations cover every aspect of sailing from supporting the international elite, who will compete in the 2008 Vendée Globe Round the World Race, which starts in November, to working with the Yngling class crew representing Great Britain in China.
Musto’s support for the next generation, in line to represent our country, is well-known through the Musto Junior and Youth Academies, in cooperation with the RYA, and its continuing support for the international Optimist class.
As performance standards continue to surge ahead, so Musto’s liaison with top sailors will contribute to the design and development process, saving weight and windage while maintaining protection, comfort and flexibility.
Mark Stubbings, Chief Executive of the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, adds, “In my mind, Musto offers the best sailing clothing on the market, and I would like to thank them for their very generous continued support. Part of their donation will go towards enabling the Academy to kit all members of staff out in Musto gear, as well as having extra kit available for visiting dignitaries, journalists and guests.”
