JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Product Developer       Ref: PD
 
Department: Product Development

Reports to: Product  Development Manager

Manager of: 

Job Purpose: To undertake all aspects of the product development process

Key Accountabilities:

1. To establish and communicate product specifications, including fit, sizing, fabrics, trims and construction details.

2. To critique products for manufacturing quality and fit, for samples and bulk production.

3. To liaise with domestic and overseas raw material and finished goods suppliers, throughout the development process.

4. To prepare fabric and product specification sheets, size specifications and gradings each season.

5. To develop and maintain accurate bill of materials and costing sheets for all products.

6. To maintain and update the relevant sections of the category line plan on a continuous basis following directions from Product Managers

7. To support Design and Product Managers with technical solutions pertaining the style development with regards to fabrics, colours, styling, trims and in cost negotiations

8. To maintain accurate records on costing of all fabrics, trims and finished products.

To drive supply chain efficiency and productivity through development and sampling solutions

Qualifications: 
• Degree or Graduate equivalent 
    

Experience: 
• At least 3 years experience of developing and costing apparel, footwear, accessories
• Experienced negotiator
• Experience of fabric and garment testing and QC procedures
