Charlotte Kerwood for Team GB?
Following the Olympic Qualifying event, which took place at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, London, Charlotte has been waiting to discover her fate. Her impressive performance at the event saw her finish in 7th place overall, ahead of her British compatriots.
If Charlotte is successful, she will be aiming to build on her success which has seen her rise through the international ranks to become the British Women’s Number 1 in the Olympic Trap shooting discipline. In 2002 she won gold in the individual Double Trap competition at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and in the same year was also successful at the European Championships where she won gold. In 2006 she collected a further two Commonwealth gold medals in the Women’s Double Trap Singles and Double Trap Pairs at the 2006 Games in Melbourne.
“I was really happy with the way I shot at Woolwich, and have everything crossed that I’ve done enough to qualify for Team GB. The chance to perform on the biggest stage in your own country is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it’s something I’ve worked so hard for. Having the support of MUSTO along the way has been great, and they’ve really helped me feel comfortable and well prepared ahead of events.”
