Charlotte Kerwood’s London 2012 Experience
Musto’s shooting ambassador Charlotte Kerwood at 25 has just completed her second Olympics. Hotly tipped for the podium, the results didn’t go her way this time as she finished outside the medals, but the double Commonwealth Champion has a lot from the experience.
For Charlotte the Games started on 16 July when the Team moved into the Olympic Village. She competed in the Olympic Trap at the Woolwich venue on 4 August and arrived home after the closing ceremony on 12 August, having attended both the amazing opening and closing ceremonies.
“The camaraderie amongst Team GB was great, staying at the village meant we were all able to mingle together and watch each other as we competed. I’d train as much as possible in the mornings and then all the shooters would support each other on competition days. The atmosphere and noise from the cheering supporters will be a lasting memory of the Games. Even with ear defenders on I could hear them.”
Charlotte plans to take a short break away from the clay range, enjoy her game shooting this season and have a short holiday abroad (for once without her gun) before getting back into training and competing.
“Rio is only four years away and will be here before you know it.”
