In the Press: Making a splash in the marine sector

We found this special report on the recent Boat Show in the Redbridge and Southend Yellow Advertiser:

‘Firms making a splash in the marine sector

Companies in Essex and east London have been among the leaders in the production, design and manufacture of marine goods and services for more than a century.  A lot has changed in the last 100 years.  Yellow Advertiser visited the London Boat Show, at London’s ExCel Centre, and discovered the region’s industry is still at the heart of the marine sector.

Sales of waterproof clothing continue to dominate the leisure clothing industry, according to Basildon-based MUSTO.

Marketing manager Amy Smith (pictured) said improvements in lighter and more versatile wear for boat users, walkers, cyclists and other adventure sports people was likely to continue. She said: “GORE-TEX revolutionised the fabric industry, but advances are still being made.”

MUSTO’s Evolution garment was one of the most popular sold in the last 12 months because of its versatility across different sports.’
