In the Press: Royal Look for Fashion Range

The following article entitled ‘Royal Look for Fashion Range’ about the latest ZP176 range was featured in The Shropshire Star last month:

Zara Phillips has taken the wraps off her new range of equestrian clothing.  The Queen’s eldest grand-daughter modelled items from the first ZP176 range at Thornberry Castle in Gloucestershire.

Designed by MUSTO in close conjunction with the current eventing world champion, the Autumn/ Winter collection is made up of eight separate items ranging from £35 to £200, including fleece-lined waterproof and windproof jackets, padded gilets and fleeces.

Zara said that products in the range had been given her personal seal of approval.

She said: “I tried and tested everything.  With design, the products were already there – I just tweaked a few things, like put in a longer cut for the riding jackets, so it won’t expose the back if you’re riding in the elements.

It’s less to do with mainstream fashion and more about practicality and engineering, something that works in training but which you wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen in in public.”

The launch marked the culmination of two years’ work for both MUSTO and Zara. It is named after the team number given to Zara when she first represented Great Britain.

“Zara has been heavily involved with the product designs right from the start of the project.  She is a natural fit with the brand and we feel her new collection will significantly enhance MUSTO’s already successful offering in sports apparel,” said the fashion company’s managing director, Nigel Musto.’
