In the Press: Zara Phillips’ new life as domestic goddess

The Express featured an article this week on Zara Phillips wearing MUSTO.

‘As she nears marriage to her live-in boyfriend, Zara Phillips is enjoying perfecting the nest she shares with her rugby-playing beau Mike Tindall.

In fact, nowadays she likes nothing more than spending her evenings staying in to study colour charts and wallpaper schemes.

“Zara has become so domesticated and just loves playing house,” reports a friend.  “She seems happy at home and not bothered about going out anymore.”

The pair, who have been together six years, bought their £1 million townhouse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, a year ago, having previously shared a cottage on the Princess Royal’s nearby estate at Gatcombe Park.

The five-bedroom terraced property was actually chosen by Tindall, the beefy captain of Gloucester Rugby Club, who wanted somewhere close to public transport and the high street after he lost his driving license in 2008 following a drink-driving conviction.  “Zara liked it but would rather have been surrounded by fields,” the friend confirms.

It wasn’t all hearts and flowers creating their perfect love nest though.

“They had lots of problems with planners and builders because of the renovation work they have taken on, which has put their relationship under pressure,” adds the friend.

“But now it is all nearly finished and they are still besotted with each other.”

We may have to wait before a royal wedding is announced because Princess Anne’s 29-year old equestrienne daughter is also concentrating on finding a horse to ride for the 2012 London Olympics.

After being forced to pull out of the Beijing Games when her trusty steed Toytown was injured, Zara still hasn’t found another mount.

“I have a couple of years to find the right horse,” she says.  “I want to compete but of course I need to get selected first.”‘
