Transat Jacques Vabre kicks off today

Following a 3 day wait for a severe depression to pass through, the Transat Jacques Vabre (TJV) will set off today at 1500 CET from Le Havre in France to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.

There are two courses; one for monohulls and one for multihulls. Monohulls must leave the Dominican Republic to starboard. Multihulls must pass St Barth to port then Barbados to starboard!

MUSTO-sponsored Mike Golding and co-skipper Bruno Dubois will be sailing the newly refitted IMOCA 60 Gamesa after a 2 year break.  See Mike Golding’s preparations here.

Over 50% of the competitors will be taking MUSTO with them across the North Atlantic in this race.  Good luck to everyone racing!
