Hannah Mills

Hannah Mills, 20, is one of Britain’s most promising young dinghy sailors, whose longterm ambition is to win a
medal at the Olympic Games. She first took the world of sailing by storm in the junior Optimist class, where she
won the National Championships, a first for any girl. Hannah’s talent has subsequently been tested in the highly
competitive double-handed international 420 class, where paired with crew Peggy Webster, Hannah has continued
to excel. The highlight of her 420 career to date was being selected to represent Great Britain at the International
Sailing Federation (ISAF) Youth World Championships in 2005, as well as winning several other international titles.

Hannah’s unquestionable talent and drive has secured her a four-year sponsorship deal with Pindar. This has
allowed Hannah to compete in a new 420 dinghy and helped cover additional coaching and campaign costs. She is
also supported by the Sports Council for Wales' prestigious lottery programme, Elite Cymru, and has received
numerous national awards. 2006 is Hannah’s final year classed as a ‘youth’ sailor before setting her sights on the
2012 Olympic stage.

TESTIMONIALS

“Sailing in the wake of Olympic champions is a daunting task, yet for somebody so young, Hannah Mills exudes a confidence that separates her from her peers.”
The Sunday Times

“Hannah Mills, one of Britain’s most promising yachtswomen, is not your average British teenager. It is unusual for a yachtswoman to get private sponsorship at her stage, but it is a measure of her potential that she has secured it so early in her career… If Mills and Webster do well then they will almost certainly win a place in the Olympic development squad.”
Evening Standard

“A modest young sailor who enjoys her sailing as much as her concealed desire to win. She is an enigma.”
The Daily Sail
