William had a very good weekend at Chatsworth. With 5 advanced horses to ride there was a fair amount pending on the weekend.
Parkmore Ed’s dressage in the world cup was a little tense like many but he made up for it with a very solid double clear – making the xc feel very easy. William did not hurry him getting 15 time faults, which left him in 10th place after the xc but his clear show jumping moved him right up to 3rd which was quite a surprise.
Sea Cookie was doing his first advanced and William could not have been more delighted with his performance to finish 9th. He was 2nd after the dressage and jumped a double clear but got quite a few time faults just taking it easy. It is a welcome feeling to have an advanced run under their belts.
Navigator more than made up for the disappointment of Powderham with a super xc round; he was feeling very confident; however his dressage was disappointing so some work is needed in this area before Bramham.
Macchiato was having his last run before Lumuhlem finishing 4th. He did a very pleasing test and jumped another double clear but 20 time faults put him just off the pace.
Kaleiscsope qualified in fine style for Bramham with a 3rd in the CIC, although his dressage was a bit green he has got bags of potential and judges appreciate his way of going. He also jumped a double clear taking all the direct routes so he will be an exciting partner for Navigator at Bramham.
