William Wins at Bramham

Bramham was an event to remember for William with Navigator winning the 3* and Moon Man winning the Mix and Match.

Navigator’s win was very much deserved as he did not put a foot wrong throughout the competition.  It is incredible these days to move from 12th to 6th to 1st at a 3* particularly with such a high class field.

Navigators xc and show jumping were foot perfect and he seemed to take the whole competition in his stride which is exciting for the future.  Navigator’s owners, Barts Ladies, could not believe their eyes and it’s an impressive record for Sharon Ridgeway who has supplied William with three Bramham winners in the last four years.

Kaleidoscope unfortunately had three fences down which was a real shame and very unlike him but he still felt a little bit tired from his xc exertions.  He dropped to 12th but I would have been very happy to have settled for that at the beginning of the week as we have only been together for such a short time.

Moon Man enjoyed his round in the mix and match class – this is the first win William’s managed in that class plus Moon Man was very pleased to be out for the first time since Somerley.

Sue Bensons course was one of the best I have seen at Bramham and the conditions were pretty much perfect throughout although a bit soft in places on the xc course.

The lorry headed home and leaves for Germany on Monday afternoon with Macchiato whilst Jackie and I head to team training with the three Olympic horses.
