Ratings and Reviews

Fenland BR2 Packaway Jacket
Fenland BR2 Packaway Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good except for the zip As far as it goes, it's a good jacket, good materials, well made, comfortable fit. However, the main zip is very fiddly to get started because it has an interlock design which requires the slider to be in precisely the right position before you can zip the jacket closed. A more tolerant and easier-to-use zip would be welcome. For any future versions of this jacket, zippers for the side pockets beneath the flaps would be more secure than the present snap fasters. A zippered telephone pocket would be very useful too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice coat and I stay dry! Bought this coat for walking and shooting. The first day out walking, the heavens opened, I stayed nice and dry and the hood worked well too. Nice deep pockets and I liked the wallet / phone pocket which is outside of the main zip so you don’t loose any body heat or expose your inner clothing to the elements. Also the cuffs have a nice Velcro tab that seals you in nicely. It’s one of two Musto shooters coats and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well thought out I won this jacket in a competition. It’s been used on mainly walked up training days or early season walked up days over Spaniels. The jacket has a high level of waterproofness. It is highly breathable and wicks sweat away well, aided by the mesh lining. Features are well thought out being packable, cartridge pocket retainers and packable hood. Being only 600g light weight to wear. This jacket is designed to be worn on early season or on high tempo walks, it won’t stand up to heavy bramble. Another great jacket by Musto!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but... This is my second Fenland, the first I bought 4 years ago. Although it is always a good jacket that holds the promise of keeping you safe from the first autumn breeze, this last sample is slightly changed for the worse. The old one is lighter, thin and therefore more easily pocketed. Moreover, the sleeves of the current one have a rather modest Velcro closure system, while the previous one has press-studs. They added a lining to make the sleeves slide better when worn, but this makes it heavier and warmer, too much for the beginning of autumn. The main zip closure is less fast to open and close, it seems of worse quality. Even the upper hand pockets are made of a more modest and lighter material. All this gives an impression of lesser quality and sturdiness compared to the old model.
