With all the mayhem in the run up to Christmas, we were grateful that the showjumper and international model, Jade Power, made time to catch up with us. Our Find a Face Competition winner sat down with us to reveal her 2016 highlights, plans over the festive period and ambitions for the New Year.
It’s been really great: my good horse and I have had a really good year. It’s been fantastic to be part of such a great team that offers support and products that have massively helped me when training and competing. It’s really helped me to develop, improve and get where I want to be.
I’ve really enjoyed creating a new partnership with my new horse, Countdown 28. We’ve massively stepped up our game and we plan to start jumping one-thirties next year. He’s been fantastic for me on the one -twenties all year.
This year I’ve stayed national, although we’re travelling to compete in Spain in January. So hopefully we might even be lucky and see some sunshine – won’t need the sun cream though which is a shame.
It’s was great fun to be part of the shoot. All the new products were amazing; I wanted to take them all home! But honestly the new range is really exciting. I’m looking forward to putting the new products through their paces.
One of my favourite Musto products is my Prestige Windstopper® ActiveSeam™ Show Jacket. It has such a good cut and is really unrestrictive, which is brilliant when I’m riding. I love it – I could literally wear it out! Another one of my favourites are my ActiveSeam™ Softshell Breeches, which I always wear at home. I train in them, I compete in them – I literally live in them!
We’re ready, and have developed a really strong bond. I didn’t want to compete with him internationally too soon, and really wanted the time to gel and learn each other so we can hit the ground running in 2017.
I can’t believe it’s that time already! I have really fond memories from Olympia last year, and plan to visit on Thursday 15th December. It’s always great to catch up with friends and watch the action, and have a little last minute Christmas shop as well! One of my favourite events at Olympia is the Cayenne Puissance. It’s going to be really competitive this year and I think we’re going to see some big jumps.
The plan is to chill with family and eat a lot. I’ve trained hard and recently finished our last competition for the year so I can’t wait for some time off to wind down ready for Spain in January.
