Sail to Surf

A NEW WAVE OF THINKING

What’s better than doing something you love?
Doing two things you love. At the same time.
Musto recently caught up with a group of friends who are exploring a new approach to one of their passions – surfing - by combining it with another passion - sailing.
They call it Sail to Surf and it’s an innovative yet simple concept. The crew sail to a beautiful spot where the waves are good. Then down goes the anchor and out come the surf boards.
For people that love the water, it’s hard to imagine a better day.
But Sail to Surf is not just about combining passions. It’s also about changing perspectives.
Rather than jetting off to Indonesia or Hawaii in order to catch that perfect wave, these guys focus on finding great surfing spots that are closer to home and can be travelled to by boat and without huge environmental cost.
It’s less about the final destination and more about the journey. And as you can see. It’s a beautiful one. This approach to surfing also opens the door to exploring locations in your own back garden that may have been previously overlooked.

Prime surf spots around the UK are plentiful and some are inaccessible by land. Sailing to these locations is the ideal way to spend a day at sea, taming the waves in more than just one way.
From the food we eat to the clothes we wear; our way of life must adapt fast in order to protect our world from further damage. At the very least, the days of booking flights, with no real thought to the extent your own personal footprints are decorating the carbon catwalk are over.

This shift in lifestyle is also causing a massive change in outlook, with many people, such as the Sail to Surf crew,
seeking new creative ways to get out and experience what our world has to offer, but with as little effect on the
surrounding environment as possible. With the likes of Greta Thunberg, Ocean Clean Up and these guys leading the
way, change is certainly in the air.
It’s time for a new movement. A new shared purpose. A new wave of thinking.
Coming soon: we get a deeper insight into the Sail to Surf crew.
